Introduction

Aurora Guides are based at the historic Sandtorgholmen hotel in Northern Norway, which is approximately 30 minutes drive from Harstad/Narvik (EVE) airport. Situated on a peninsula that protrudes into the Tjeldsundet - the strait that separates Hinnøya from the mainland - the hotel provides a fabulous base for your Northern Lights and Arctic nature adventure. On clear nights when there are reasonable levels of Solar activity, the Aurora can very often be seen directly over the hotel.

As our name suggests, our primary area of interest is the Aurora Borealis or, as they are more commonly known, the "Northern Lights". With the assistance of professional photographer and veteran Aurora chaser, Andy Keen, we have launched a number of  Northern Lights & Arctic Nature adventures.

In addition to Aurora guiding, we also work alongside local activity providers who offer truly authentic experiences. These include husky sledding, Sami culture and Arctic wildlife, for example. Whilst you're in our part of the world we would like you to experience as much as possible and, in doing so, to create memories that will last for a lifetime.

It is extremely important that our clients not only get value for money, but also to ensure that their overall experience is truly authentic, and of the highest possible quality
